Welcome to Our Luxurious Seaside Villa

scroll

Time flows just a little slower here…

Awajishima... Said to be the first island formed when the gods made Japan, mention of Awaji can be found in the oldest chronicle of Japanese history The Kojiki. Amahara takes its name from this "high heavenly plain" that later became known as Awaji. Guests of Amahara can experience this land beyond time, where the sea lulls and the soft breeze beckons. We want our guests to experience true peace during their stay with us; enjoy your own villa home-away-from-home with a private open-air bath.

Seaside Onsen Journey to Group Hotels

Amahara guests are invited to use Hotel New Awaji`s Spa Terrace Mizuki Awaji-Tanada-no-Yu and Spa Terrace Mizuki Kuniumi-no-Yu, our two natural onsen hot springs, as well as Awaji Yumesenkei`s Tenkyu-no-Shizuku.

  • Awaji Yumesenkei
    Tenkyu-no-Shizuku

Awaji Yumesenkei contains two hot springs, the naturally-occuring Komoe Onsen, and Sumoto Onsen. Both can be enjoyed at the Tenkyu-no-Shizuku Spa. Sea, sky, and pure hot spring waters seem to melt into one endless blue abandon in this Maisonette-style facility.

    Kuniumi-no-Yu

Kuniumi-no-Yu takes its theme from the ancient Shinto gods Izanagi and Izanami, who are responsible for creating Japan. The bath is as fragrant as a forest, inviting bathers to breathe deeply the scent of nature. Sumoto Onsen`s source comes from Mount Mikuma and is known for its healing properties; Komoe Onsen`s source is actually right on the site of Awaji Yumesenkei and its waters are slightly cloudy, showing its rich mineral content. From jacuzzi-style baths to full submersion baths with comfy neck-rests, Kuniumi-no-Yu offers many ways to unwind.

    Awaji Tanada -no-Yu

Tanada, known in English as terraced rice fields, harken back to Old Japan. Awaji Tanada-no-Yu brings unique pride to our hotel, with its three-tiered bath. In the ancient Kojiki chronicle, Awaji was known as "the island where the crop god lives", and its climate and terrain were well-suited for the cultivation of rice. To this day, Awaji still yields a very generous rice crop, and in this spirit, we created this terraced bath as an homage to Awaji`s past.

Often touted as "the world`s most feel-good massage", or "yoga for two", it is well-known as one of Eastern medicine's best-kept secrets.
